The GRHPS exhibit at the 2017 WWI Bazaar featured materials on soldiers Peter Ebbert, Garret Sinkway and Ludovicus van Iersel as well as WWI era toys. Mayor Packer stopped by to visit with GRHPS volunteers Kay Tuite, Diane Herrlett and Bill Gilligan during the event.
Makers Day at the GR Library
March 25, 2017
The GRHPS hosted a project at the Library's Makers Day this year. Our visitors were asked to create a model of the original Glen Rock Municipal Building (aka Borough Hall) structure using marshmallows and coffee stirrers. Photos and blueprints from the 1930s helped the budding engineers clarify their vision. Thanks to Glen Rock TV for filming!

BERGEN COUNTY HISTORY DAY: Saturday MAY 30th, 2015
This annual event, sponsored by the NorthWest Bergen History Coalition, will once again enable visits to all nine member museums/historic houses (including, of course, the GRHPS Museum at the Station) on one day. The theme for this year's History Day is "transporation" - such an important factor in the settlement of Bergen County. The Museum at the Station is very pleased to feature a private vintage toy collection of cars, trucks, horse-drawn fire engines and more plus a full-sized collection of bicycles (a boneshaker, a couple of penny-farthings, early safety bicycle and more) and - the piece de resistance - the actual Zinn-Buick race car that raced at the Ho-Ho-Kus Racetrack in 1913.
Stay tuned for ticket information (coming soon) but mark your calendars now. You won't want to miss out!
See event poster here.
Tickets can be purchased directly from the GRHPS by contacting GRHistoricalSociety@gmail.com.
October through December 2014
The photos from this exhibit have been placed into an Exhibit Binder and will be available for viewing at the Museum at the Station.
