CONTEMPORARY GLEN ROCK PROJECT
We are very excited to announce a Contemporary Photo Project in partnership with photographer, Andy Stoffo. Andy is a 2016 graduate of Emerson College, with a B.A. in Visual Media Arts (Film and Photography). He will be capturing aspects of today's Glen Rock in photographs, which will become a permanent part of the GRHPS collection. If you see him around town with his camera, be sure to say hello!
Here's a sample: St. Catharine's at Night, 2016.
The GRHPS is seeking photographs of the 94 Glen Rock men listed on the World War I Memorial Honor Roll plaque that was affixed to the front of The Rock back in 1921. If you have a photo of a descendant listed on the Honor Roll, please contact us at GRHistoricalSociety@gmail.com.
Click here for a list of the names on the plaque.
We have now expanded this project to include ALL World War I soldiers with a Glen Rock connection, including all those moved into town following their service. The men on the Rock plaque all entered service from Glen Rock or had a Glen Rock connection (work, etc.) at the time of their enlistment. We are now also collecting photographs of those veterans who enlisted elsewhere but lived here at any point in their lives. We will post the photos collected in our Honor Roll Gallery and in our Museum at the Station. Remember that we can scan your precious photos and return the original to you. Thank you.
